VANCOUVER WHALE WATCH announces the launch of the NEW Explorathor. This boat will be unlike any boat you've ever seen before. It was built locally in North Vancouver and is able to accommodate 47 passengers per tour. It will be fully open in the front, covered in the rear and feature an upper level observation deck. Vancouver Whale Watch is the only company with zodiac style vessels operating in the area. This translates to a smoother, more comfortable ride and less chance of seasickness for our passengers and a decreased impact on the marine environment. For an adventure of a lifetime come out on a 3 to 5 hour tour to see the magnificent Killer Whales in their natural habitat. Check out the events calendar on our website www.vancouverwhalewatch.com for monthly specials.

RETAIL BUSINESS FOR SALE IN STEVESTON

For over 25 years The Clothes Encounter has been providing families with a unique children's store, always evolving with the times and requests of customers. Now it's time for me to retire to spend more time with my 5 grandchildren who live in Langley where I'll be moving to.The business will include stock and you must be willing to sign a non-discloser agreement form , only serious enquires contact me please at 604-271-0310 to set up an appointment.

BUSINESS FOR SALE

My husband retired 3 years ago … it’s my turn! I am still looking for the right person to take over my business that includes:

The Steveston Villager Business Directory – above (since 1986), currently published twice a year,

The Steveston Community Website since1996) www.steveston.ca,

Steveston Community E-Newsletter (since 2000)
All are a home based business.

It currently is a one person operation - sales, graphic layout and design, content, distribution and billing. It has allowed me to raise two wonderful daughters without daycare and to have the freedom that only owning your own business can bring.

This group of businesses are a “turnkey” operation and full business package. Each one compliments the other.
This would be suitable for a stay-at-home Mom who wants to stay connected in the work force. This would also suitable for an energetic early retiree or a young person with vision. Experience with computer graphic or willingness to learn and a love for Steveston a definite asset.

If you think you might be the right person, to carry on these businesses, let’s set up an appointment to talk about it. You will be asked to sign a non-disclosure document. Thist has been a viable business for 24 years. It does have the potential of earning a full time salary. Please, only serious enquires. 604-275-9452, sunor@steveston.bc.ca

HISTORY OF THE
STEVESTON VILLAGER
BUSINESS DIRECTORY

It is dedicated to the promotion of Steveston Businesses and Community Groups since 1986. The “Villager” was designed to help residents and visitor discover how truly unique and beautiful Steveston is and the varied businesses available as an alternative to the malls.

The Steveston Villager is solely produced and published by Sue Girling, Steveston resident for 34 years and Mother of two. She has been an active volunteer in Community Groups since 1984. Her expertise in Marketing and Promotion stems from her experience as Board member of the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society for 15 years, Chair for 3 years, and Coordinator of the late Steveston Business Association 10 years. Sue helped coordinate the BIA in 1986 for the Steveston Revitalization project. She was board Member of the Richmond Visitor Industry Development Board for 3 years (which set up Tourism Richmond) where she helped design and implement The City of Richmond “heron” branding and signage package and specific signage for Steveston as well as organized many FAM tours for Steveston. She sat on the BC Packers Advisory Committee representing Steveston Businesses during redevelopment of the BC Packers land. Sue handled the Press and Publicity for the Steveston Museum and Post Office, as the Historical Society celebrated the buildings 100 Anniversary. Sue was nominated Richmond’s Woman of the Year for Business in 1997. Sue has been publishing and image setting for 24 years and continues to work tirelessly today to support Steveston Businesses and Community Groups.

Sue coined the phrases “Historic Steveston Village” (for street signage and advertising), “Spirit of Steveston” and “A Town Within a City” with her first promotional pieces for the Steveston Business Association in 1984. She worked closely with the Steveston Community Society during The Salmon Festival planning to help organize events such as the “Steveston Chowder Contest” and “Steveston Kite Festival”, “Store Decorating Contest”. She developed and pioneered the most loved, and continued today, “Santa Claus Comes to Town” parade by boat event with lighted fishing boats, the “Christmas Store Decorating Contest, as well as the “Steveston Easter Egg Hunt” all sponsored by the then Steveston Business Association and continues to this day.

The Steveston Villager Business Directory is published twice a year, summer and winter, and is delivered to homes, apartments V7E by Canada Post and distributed in high traffic areas of Richmond and Steveston. Let the “Villager” with its many years of experience and vision help to promote your business! 604-275-9452, sunor@steveston.bc.ca

The Steveston Community Website pioneered the first site solely dedicated to Steveston. For 14 years has brought visitors and residents up-to-date information and continues to do so at: www.steveston.ca
