NEW!! REFLECTIONS GASTRONOMY, Construction has started on the new Reflections Gastronomie restaurant owned by Marat and Ella Dreyshner. The Dreyshner’s, long-time residents of Richmond, are excited to be opening up a brand new restaurant in Steveston.

“Steveston is a great place and changing rapidly. The developments on the waterfront are phenomenal and we look forward to be a part of all of this. Our restaurant will have a European-style bistro atmosphere and food. The emphasis will be on fresh and local,” says Marat Dreyshner, the restaurant’s executive chef.

His wife Ella, who will be the general manager, says “the plan is to be open by mid January of next year. The view from the restaurant will be fantastic. Both from the main and second floor customers will see the mighty Fraser and when you add the wonderful food that we will be serving it will become a great dining experience. The response we had from people in Steveston to our new venture has been terrific. Now we can hardly wait till we are open for business.”

MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION PROGRAM

Bob Aldcorn is facilitating a Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program at the SWARA ISPIRITATIONS Studio. This 8- week course is modeled after Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn’s program at the University of Massachusetts. Medical School. The central focus of this program is to learn how to use our natural human capacities and abilities to respond more effectively to stress, pain and illness through mindfulness meditation and light stretching.

Bob Aldcorn has received a Certificate in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in Mind-Body Medicine under the direction of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and Dr Saki Santorelli from the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, UMASS Medical School. Bob has also completed a 92- hour teacher development intensive training taught by senior staff from the Center for Mindfulness and is registered as a teacher in the MBSR Directory at the UMASS Center for Mindfulness.

Classes are on Thursday evenings from 7- 9:30 PM starting with a free orientation session on January 11/2007 through March 8/2007. On Saturday February 24 there is a full-day silent retreat.
