JOHN YAP PROVINCIAL MLA

Yap Announces - Keeping BC Strong
Visit John's website at: www.johnyap.ca

As the new year of 2009 unfolds, the economy is on everyone's mind. Our BC Liberal government has brought in a budget for these financially uncertain times, with major investments in infrastructure, which will create jobs throughout B.C. and continue investments in key programs like health care and education. B.C. is well positioned to get through this economic slowdown thanks to our government's prudent fiscal management. We also have the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympics Games to look forward to. The Games will inject economic activity and create jobs, including here in Richmond with our Olympic Oval. The soon-to-be completed Canada Line will also generate new economic opportunities for our community.

I am honoured to serve as your MLA for Richmond-Steveston and will be seeking re-election on May 12, 2009. I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail! If you have any questions, please call our office at 778-297-1948 or email john.yap@bcliberals.com. Also find me on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/John-Yap/20093783127 and on Twitter with the user name JohnYapMLA.

We just wanted to remind you that everyone is invited to attend the pre opening of the juried Student Art Exhibition this coming Saturday at the Artisans' Galleria from 7:00 onwards.
Awards will be given out that evening to the first and second place winners in the three categories and there will be refreshments, the chance to purchase a winning door prize ticket (minimum $5/00 donation) and of course the opportunity to view the work of these emerging artists before the exhibits starts on Sunday.

Our thanks goes out to board member Amanda Peters for all her hard work in organizing this great event which is fully funded by the CACR. It was very time consuming but the response from the schools, teachers and students has been worthwhile. Please show your support by attending. Plus it's an inexpensive evening out. Thanks
