Filmmaker Cory Bretz followed entrepreneurial Fired Up Catering owners Chef Marat Dreyshner and General Manager Ella Dreyshner for 9 months as they had the building finished, created the menu, and counted the hours to the Grand Opening. Reflections Gastronomie is a brand new 100 seat restaurant overlooking the Steveston harbor. It boasts 2400 square feet and has two levels, giving customers the option of up or downstairs dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday. This European influenced menu created by Executive Chef Marat Dreyshner is unlike any other in Richmond and integrates a concept of eating that aims to balance starches and proteins correctly. The kitchen uses all organic and local ingredients and prepares all of its products in house so that customers are always eating food that is fresh and in season while supporting the local economy. The restaurant itself is an architectural beauty with elegant and tasteful accents and plenty of windows offering lots of natural light and a magnificent view of the water. The restaurant can also accommodate a wide variety of private events from weddings to corporate functions. I would like to announce, sadly, that our tutoring centre which opened its doors here in Steveston in 1999 will be closing this June. We have made many friends and contacts over the years and are going in a new direction as we work with families that are enrolled in distributed learning. For those of you who have children with disabilities, particularly with ASD, you may want to email us to get more information about alternatives to the public school system. A significant development in the last couple of years has been the funding of special needs students in the private system, including distributed learning. Riders will meet at Funktion Junktion at 6.30 and will depart for a casual ride around Steveston, and up the dike returning to the store where we will have a BBQ and a bike gathering.
