GULF OF GEORGIA CANNERY GIFT STORE

The Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society is pleased to present “Steveston Heritage Calendar 2005”, showcasing the works of artist Jo Scott-B, as she interprets the history of Steveston. From a small bank, which became a doctor’s office, and then a museum/community post office, to an old drugstore, rumored to be built from brick debris from the San Francisco earthquake, to the “Gulf of Georgia monster cannery”. These beautiful watercolours depicit the best of Steveston’s heritage.

The original works of art will be on display at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site Thursday, June 24th. Partial proceeds of the sale of this calendar will assist the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society to continue to carry out its mission “To Preserve and Present the History of Canada’s West Coast Fishing Industry”.

Each of the thirteen (13) watercolour pictures in the calendar are suitable for framing. The calendar is packaged in a clear sleeve with a mailing envelope enclosed for easy mailing. Great birthday, anniversary and Christmas gifts. Steveston has never had such a spectacular calendar. A limited number of calendars have been printed.

THE LULU ISLAND B&B ASSOCIATION

Welcomes visitors and “locals” to www.luluislandbbassociation.com. The Association which was formed 3 years ago now has nine B&B Members. The purpose of the Non-Profit Association is to welcome visitors to Richmond and have them stay and see the vitality of a smaller city living on the edge of a colossal city beckoning our tourists with promises of richer awards ahead. We found that the tourists that arrived in Richmond were not recommended accommodations in this plentiful city but were sent onto that “other” city. Richmond is spicy! We are vibrant and warm. We have things to do and places to see. The people in Richmond are even fun sometimes, believe it or not. Just take a look at our web site and you will see every type of B&B accommodation that any visitor would wish for, is there. Prices range from $55/night to $165/night. The Lulu Island B&B Association has some pretty fun people and there is definitely some good stories coming to the breakfast table each morning. Stories about Richmond, stories about our historical place in B.C., stories about the Thrift Stores, stories about the best fish and chips and stories about the great places to visit when you leave Richmond like that city “next door”.

The Lulu Island B&B Association Members: Berg’s B&B, Cedar House B&B, Chestnut Tree B&B, Forget-Me-Not B&B, Heritage House B&B, Steveston B&B, The Stone Hedge B&B, Villa Jade B&B, Waters Edge House B&B

We have visitors that come from all over the Lower Mainland to just “get away” for a few days. We recommend restaurants in Steveston, Whale-Watching, Renting Bikes, Shopping and for sure just plain “people watching” on the docks. If there is a business in Steveston that services tourists/visitors with a particular attraction or service, we would be happy to promote them to our guests as well. Our motto is “STAY IN RICHMOND”.
