GULF OF GEORGIA CANNERY SOCIETY - CALL FOR NEW DIRECTORS
The Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society is currently seeking new Board members for two-year terms. In 2004 the Society celebrated 10 years of operating the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site, owned by Parks Canada.. The Administration Building is open year round with 6 full time staff, which increases to 20 during our open season. As we continue to grow, our need for experienced leaders in the field of Marketing, Finance, Accounting and Fundraising is ever increasing. We are seeking dynamic, forward thinking people who are interested in working closely to “preserve and present the history of Canada’s West Coast fishing industry”. The current volunteer Board of Directors is very active in policymaking and governance of the Cannery. Successful applicants will be expected to participate in committee meetings of their choice as well as attend regular monthly board meetings. Previous Board or community work experience not necessary, but an asset. Please submit your letter of interest and resume by fax or email to: Sue Girling, Immediate Past Chair, Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society. 12138 Fourth Avenue, Richmond, B.C. V7E 3J1 or
