About the tournament

Groups from all forms of emergency, community service, and business are invited to enter teams in this friendly non-competitive tournament. The Rotary Club of Steveston wishes all participants good luck.

Attendance at this annual tournament is by donation, with proceeds from attendance, player registration, food sales, and prize draws going towards support of local emergency services, and related prevention, and education.

The tournament is held in memory of Constable Jimmy Ng, who was tragically killed in the line of duty on September 15, 2002 while responding to a call when his marked police cruiser was hit by youths who were street racing.

Constable Ng grew up in Richmond, graduated from Matthew McNair High School, and joined the RCMP in 1996. He served his first 5 years in Duncan BC before transferring to Richmond to serve in the community in which he grew up.

Constable Ng was a member of the RCMP Richmond Detachment, C Watch, and an active local volunteer. He was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit No. 7, based in Steveston. As a volunteer member of this team he had taken part in many search and rescue missions.

With affectionate memory of Constable Jimmy Ng we express gratitude, admiration and respect to all of our Police Officers, Firefighters, Coast Guard Personnel, Ambulance Service, and all other emergency personnel who risk their lives on a daily basis for the betterment and safety of all.

THE COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL OF RICHMOND

The Community Arts Council of Richmond and the Courtyard Galleria has moved and will be opening in their new location mid to late March.

It will now be named Artisan’s Galleria

The new address will be:

#130 – 3651 MONCTON STREET, STEVESTON B.C. V7E 3A5

Our phone number will stay the same.

It is on the north side of the street nestled between the Cannery Café and the Tandor Indian Restaurant.

Watch our window for the opening date or visit our website, which is

www.richmondartscouncil.com for updates or email us at cacr@richmondartscouncil.com. You can also call 604-241-2790 and leave a message if we do not answer.

We are very excited about the new larger space as it will allow us to introduce more work by local artists and artisan’s, thereby offering more selection of quality juried work in one location. As well, once we get going, we plan to have more free exhibitions, which will be great for residents and visitors alike. We hope that this move will be an added attraction for Steveston Village.

We look forward to seeing you all in our new location.
