KIDS HELPING KIDS -

The Community Arts Council of Richmond will partner with the Arts Connection’s Renaissance Academy kindergarten and Paddington Station pre-kindergarten in producing a short exhibition called “KIDS HELPING KIDS”

The children attending these classes wanted to do something to help the children in Haiti suffering following the earthquake disaster. They have created works of art that will be sold and all proceeds will be sent to the relief effort for Haitian children.

The work will be on display at the Artisans’ Galleria in historic Steveston Village beginning March 1st and will be available for purchase ONLY on March 7th at a reception and sale between 12:30 – 4:00.

This is a wonderful way for these little ones to express their empathy and concern for others in the world. Please show your interest, support and appreciation by taking the time to view these unique works of art and their very first, official, gallery show and sale.

The Artisans’ Galleria is at 3651 Moncton St. Steveston (in Richmond) open daily 10 – 5 and the sale takes place March 7th between 12:30 – 4:00, don’t miss this opportunity!

For more information contact:
Michael – Manager of the Artisans’ Galleria

A Non profit arts council, supporting the arts and artists for 40 years

Run by the non-profit Community Arts Council of Richmond, the Artisans’ Galleria is the only venue in Richmond, which is dedicated to showcasing the juried work of local artists.

Located on Moncton Street in the heart of Steveston Village this inviting space welcomes visitors and locals alike. It is a wonderful place to see and appreciate the talented work by local artists.

The offerings are varied, of exceptional quality and reasonably priced. Here you will find pottery, porcelain and Raku, costume and semi precious jewellery, a wide variety of greeting cards, fused, recycled and painted glassware, hand crafted wood items, photography, prints, textiles, and of course paintings and more. The arts council has over 70 members and over 60 of them have their work available for sale in the Galleria, giving you a wide selection and choice.

Each time you purchase an item from the Artisans’ Galleria you are supporting that particular artist and the arts community at large. The Community Arts Council of Richmond will turn 40 this year but each year it becomes more difficult to keep operating. The provincial government’s decision to cancel their grant program and a slow economy has made it a struggle to keep the doors open and to offer their annual exhibition series.

So your patronage will help them reach their 40th birthday and continue to offer great works of art and exhibitions. In fact beginning March 1st they will combine with the Arts Connection kindergarten and Paddington Station pre-kindergarten in hosting creative works of art by the children in these classes.

It is the children’s way to show empathy for the children in Haiti. The work will be on display until a reception and sale at the Artisans’ Galleria on March 7 th from 12:30 – 4:00 p.m.  All proceeds from this sale will be donated to the Haiti relief fund. So join them, show your interest and appreciation for these little one's first official gallery show and sale to benefit children in Haiti.
