Community Events March 2007:

GULF OF GEORGIA CANNERY NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE - May 5: Join us for the Cannery's official exhibit opening for the 2007 summer season.

Here is the Winner of the Valentine’s Day Love Letter Contest at the Cannery for your enjoyment!!
To Coral, My Dearest Valen-tide:

I have been harbouring these thoughts for awhile, so I can’t kelp but to write this letter to you right now. It is quite urchin-t! I am not writing it for the halibut - I am quite sincere. My dear, I am hoping that you will accept my love – hook, line, and sinker – and get aboard.

You are my sole mate. When I first met you, our conversation spawned these feelings, and my love for you was berthed. This love has not taper-ed. Every time that I sea you, I feel eel over my love for you, and I say, “Oh My Cod!” I otter know better, but when it comes time to say something to you, I get all em-ocean-al…. Then, I clam up and flounder. I even try being more flam-buoyant, but I usually can just say, “Hello,” and wave. However, in this letter, I am going to be more Pacific. I am just going to be Strait with you…I will stop acting like a pool.

Coral, I think about you endlessly - I am not sure that I am still seine. While I am a man, I have been acting like a school buoy. I am not just feeding you a line, and I am not trying to orca-strate anything. However, I am hoping that we can spend chum time together very soon.

This letter is an invitation. I know that you enjoy music and movies, so I want to roll out the red carp-et for you. Therefore, to get to know you better, I am inviting you to the theatre with me to see the new flick, Dream-gills - starring Buoy-ence’ Knowles. I think that we will have a whale of a time together, so I am hope-ling that you will say, “Yes.” In fact, I am perch-ed on the edge of my reef, anticipating your reply.

I love you de-fin-tively. I will scale any mountain for you, and I promise to be tide-and-true to you. Please give me a ray of hope! But if you must decline, you will still have my love and friend-ship and will never be considered anemone.

Seal-ed with a kiss.

Love,
Sturgeon
